SWG Reckoning Rules, Policies, and Guidelines

Welcome to the Official SWG Reckoning Community, home to the premier 14.1 AGPL-compliant SWGEmu private server. These rules, policies, and guidelines ensure a fun, fair, and thriving experience for all members of our galactic community.

Rules and Policies

• Reckoning allows one account per person, with up to 8 characters and 2 online simultaneously. Exceptions for households (e.g., families, roommates) require notification via the multiple account form. Violations are minor but may escalate to major if persistent.
• Sharing account information is prohibited to protect privacy and prevent loss of characters, items, or credits. Violations are minor (staff-approved exceptions possible), but Reckoning is not responsible for losses due to shared accounts.

General In-Game Policies and Rules

• Accounts and characters may not be used for real-world monetary gain, including soliciting trades, purchasing in-game items/credits for real currency, or exchanging items/credits across games or servers. This is a major violation.
• Character, item, structure, or guild names must not be vile, profane, rude, racist, drug-related, historically/religiously offensive (e.g., God, Jesus, Allah, Satan, Hitler, Stalin), or impersonate Reckoning staff. All-caps names are also prohibited. This is a major violation.
• Exploits, third-party programs, or game-altering software are strictly forbidden. Report exploits immediately or face severe penalties for non-disclosure. This is a severe offense.
• Griefing or harassment (e.g., clone camping, kill stealing, repeated kills) is prohibited. Staff determine penalties based on severity, ensuring a positive gameplay experience.
• Item restoration is limited to losses from server issues (e.g., database errors, crashes). Items lost due to player actions will not be restored.
• In-game chat must avoid obscene, rude, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, or intolerant messages. Minor offenses may escalate to major. Spamming or ads impeding chat are minor offenses. Sharing real-world personal information without consent is a major offense.
• General Chat is for community assistance and connection, not flaming or trash talk. Staff enforce civility in General Chat and other server-focused channels.
• Promoting other servers via in-game messages, email, or other means is a severe offense, resulting in a permanent ban.

Specific In-Game Policies and Rules

• “Fight Clubbing” (gaining Force Rank Experience via illegitimate means, e.g., killing alts or arranged kills) is prohibited. Violations result in immediate suspension, with harsher penalties for repeat offenses.
• SWG Reckoning is not liable for item loss, decay, or experience during staff- or player-planned events, which are voluntary.
• Multiple Jedi characters on a single account within the Force Ranking System are forbidden, with in-game measures to prevent “Fight Clubbing.”

Account Guidelines

• Each user is limited to one account. Multiple accounts from the same IP are allowed for household members (e.g., roommates, family) but require the household multi-account form.
• Running multiple client instances on the same computer is prohibited and may result in suspension.
• Bypassing a ban is not permitted. Appeal bans via the admin contact form.
• Selling or sharing accounts is forbidden. Compromised accounts will be locked until ownership is verified.
• Account names must not be vile, profane, rude, racist, drug-related, historically/religiously offensive, or impersonate Reckoning staff.

Website and Forum Guidelines

• Posting abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented, or illegal content is prohibited.
• Spamming, trolling, baiting, personal attacks, or insults are not allowed.
• Sharing real-world personal information without consent is forbidden.
• Reposting deleted/closed threads or bumping threads over a month old (“necroing”) is prohibited.
• All posts must be in English.
• Impersonating Reckoning staff or other community representatives is not permitted.
• Advertisements (e.g., other servers, websites, products) are prohibited.
• Discussion or links to illegal client downloads, third-party hacks, or cheats are forbidden. Client-side modding is allowed if it provides no unfair advantage.
• Uploading files or links containing viruses or malicious data is prohibited.
• Attempting to hack or disrupt the SWG Reckoning network is strictly forbidden.

Discord

General Rules

• Inappropriate, sexually explicit, or offensive profile pictures are not allowed.
• Exploiting rule loopholes is prohibited; report them instead.
• Spamming members via DMs is forbidden, and rules apply to DMs within the server.
• Bugs, exploits, glitches, or hacks are not permitted.

Text Chat Rules

• Requesting roles or moderator status is prohibited.
• Do not @mention moderators for support; use tickets or appropriate channels.
• Avoid @mention spam, sexually explicit, pornographic, or NSFW content (except in designated channels).
• Illegal content, modding, hacking, or sharing personal information (e.g., names, addresses, passwords) is forbidden.
• Personal attacks, witch hunting, harassment, sexism, racism, hate speech, flaming, or flame wars are prohibited.
• Spamming, non-English conversations, or advertising other servers/links are not allowed.

Voice Chat Rules

• Channel hopping or annoying/loud noises are prohibited.
• Minimize background noise when possible.

Moderation

• Moderators may use discretion regardless of rules, delete/edit posts, or manage voice channels (e.g., disconnect, mute, move members) to maintain quality.
